1544 Miles to Omaha Podcast – Episode 3: Tommy Wilson

Titan Baseball Alumnus Tommy Wilson only played one year at Cal State Fullerton during the 2018 season. Tommy Wilson was a Junior College transfer from Pierce College and despite pitching only his junior year, was drafted by the New York Mets selected Wilson in the 2018 MLB Draft with their 19th round pick, the 560th player selected overall.

I had a chance to catch up with Tommy Wilson via phone while he was in Florida for spring training getting ready to start his first full season of professional baseball.

In our conversation Tommy talks about transitioning to spring training just weeks after playing in the college Super Regionals and joining his second team in less than a year. Tommy hits on topics as to how he took on more of a leadership role throughout the 2018 Titan Baseball season, the impact and intensity of the rivalry series with Long Beach State, the 2018 postseason including the epic walk off game against Stanford, a game which he started and pitched magnificently. Tommy also touches on his perspective on knowing that playing baseball will not last forever and already has plans for whenever that day may come.
